Somewhere along the way, most of us learned to wait. Wait until the timing is better. Wait until the house is quieter, the calendar is lighter, the courage is bigger. We tell ourselves “someday,” and we say it so gently that it almost sounds like a plan.
But she doesn’t say someday. She looks toward what’s coming with a calm that feels like a promise, as if she knows how it ends, and it ends well.
